1980 was a big year for Saturday Night Live alumni's John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd. As major followers and lovers of blues music, their much loved characters "Joliet" Jake Blues (Belushi) and Elwood Blues (Aykroyd), truly made a big splash in the album charts as their debut movie "The Blues Brothers" grossed millions of dollars and became one of the biggest movies 1980.
The historic "The Blues Brothers - Original Soundtrack Recording" featured some of the biggest artists of all time. Superstars like Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, James Brown and many others are featured on this amazing soundtrack, which also brought Dan and John a big hit single with their Spencer Davis Group cover of "Gimme Some Lovin'"
