Description

1965 was an incredible year for Davy Jones. Prior to becoming a major superstar with The Monkees, he already had his name in lights as Tony Nominee for his part in the stage hit "Oliver" as The Artful Dodger, which he also portrayed on the groundbreaking Ed Sullivan Show, the same night The Beatles debuted!......Who would think a year later, a solo album, and then a Monkee....all at a stunning pace.

His first solo album on Colpix Records was produced by Hank Levine and featured a good amount of pop and rock songs, featuring his hit single "What Are We Going To Do" plus one of earliest renditions of the Bob Dylan classic "It Ain't Me Babe."

Friday Music is pleased to revisit this treasured debut release of the late great Davy Jones simply titled "David Jones. The 1965 effort is mastered impeccably by long time Monkees reissue producer Joe Reagoso, and is featured in a stunning gatefold LP cover.
