Description
2002's "My Ride's Here" was one of Warren Zevon's final albums, recorded in New York and Los Angeles, the ten song classic included some of his more personal performances like "I Have To Leave" and the prolific title track "My Ride's Here." Plus hard rocking joints like "Basket Case" and "Sacrificial Lambs."
The Top 20 Independent Rock charting album included some interesting collaborations like his work with Hunter S. Thompson on "You're A Whole Different Person When You're Scared" and the dark comedy of "Hit Somebody! (The Hockey Song)" featuring Late Show legend David Letterman, has a reminiscent vibe going back to his "Excitable Boy" era.
As always, Warren Zevon would pick some really great musicians and for "My Ride's Here" you will hear the stellar drum work of Anton Fig (Bob Dylan) and the bass work of both Tony Levin (King Crimson) & Sheldon Gomberg (Charlie Musselwhite) plus vocals from his children Jordan Zevon and Ariel Zevon.
Originally released only as a CD, this amazing album has been out of print for several years......however Friday Music is now very pleased to announce the return of this classic 2002 masterwork on first time stunning Emerald Green Vinyl.
Produced by Warren Zevon and Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso (Warren Zevon/Linda Ronstadt) from the Melody LP tapes at Friday Music Studios, "My Ride's Here" is further enhanced with a first time gatefold cover featuring all the lyrics as well as a nice photo of the late great artist.
