1985 and 1986 were super huge years for Starship, Moving on from their Jefferson Starship handle, and changing their sound with new producers and some outside writers, the changes worked and resulted in one of the biggest albums in their careers.
"Knee Deep In The Hoopla" hit the airwaves with the anthem "We Built This City" and the fans and retail reacted immediately carrying the song to the Number One spot. The Grammy nominated song would go on to catapult the album to the upper rungs of the Top Ten, placing at #7, taking the album to platinum status.
The Lp launched another smash hit with the incredible power ballad "Sara" which took radio by storm, again placing the song at #1, and deservedly so. The Peter Wolf penned classic truly delivered the goods with the sensational Mickey Thomas vocals and powerful band accompaniment, making this one of the greatest songs of the decade.
Rock and Top 40 radio hammered the album even further with more great fare like "Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight" and "Before I Go", truly making this "Knee Deep In The Hoopla" one of the biggest albums of the Starship's career, which continues to this day.
