After re-defining the dance floors of the world with their bombastic 1977 debut "Chic"
, NIle
Rodgers and Co. went back to the studio and delivered one of the most important
dance/r&b/funk albums of all time with "C'set Chic.
"
The 1978 smash #1 album featured the 6x Platinum single "Le Freak"
, as well as another top
charter with "I Want Your Love.
" The Lp was and still is one of the most go to albums for
those who want to dance and party all night long.
Nile Rodgers would soon become one of the world's most prolific songwriter, guitarist and
producer in the music industry. His work has been documented with smash hits from David
Bowie, David Lee Roth, Al Jarreau, Diana Ross, Madonna, INXS, Duran Duran, Bryan Ferry and
Mick Jagger.
Further hits like "Happy Man" and "Funny Bone"
would go on to influence the techno dance
world, as bands like Daft Punk would soon be collaborating with superstar
producer/guitarist/songwriter Nile Rodgers on their 2013 smash "Get Lucky.
"
And if you want to hear some amazing guitar work, check out Nile riffing on Chic's incredible
instrumental "Savoir Fare"
The great musicianship of the late greats Bernard Edwards (bass) and Tony Thompson
(drums) are truly displayed on every great song from this album. Both gentlemen would go
on to work with more superstars like Diana Ross, Power Station, Robert Palmer and Joe
Cocker.
Lead Vocalists included the tremendous talents of Norma Jean Wright and the late great
Alfa Anderson, who's brilliance shines on the entire album, augmented with friends like
Luther Vandross and Luci Martin, making "C'set Chic" a very cool listen
Friday Music is no stranger to the supersonic sounds of Nile Rodgers and Chic, therefore, we
are very pleased to present to you for the first time ever on stunning Clear Blue Vinyl Chic's
classic "C'set Chic.
"
Mastered impeccably by Joe Reagoso (Chic/David Bowie/Al Jarreau) from the Atlantic
"C'set Chic"
will be one of the more important soul and dance classics revisited

this year.
