1982 was a big year for Michael McDonald. After The Doobie Brothers went on brief hiatus,
Michael moved into the spotlight as a major solo artist. His voice was everywhere, huge hit
collaborations with friends like Christopher Cross, James Ingram, Kenny Loggins, Toto and
Carly Simon would lead him to his smash solo album "If That's What It Takes.
"
The amazing debut was an instant hit album with both fans and critics as it catapulted onto
the airwaves with his smash hit "I Keep Forgettin'
. Featuring a array of more great hit
singles like his collaboration with Kenny Loggins "I Gotta Try
" and "Playin' By The Rules"
would take this album into the upper rungs of the album charts in short order.
Talk about having some great musical friends, Michael McDonald is joined by former Doobie
Brothers Bobby LaKind and Willie Weeks, Toto's Steve Lukather, Jeff Porcaro and Mike
